Tracking the visitor economy
In 2025, foreign overnight visitors reached 1·44 million, staying an average of 9·5 nights and spending R1 390 a day, for R19 billion in total foreign direct spend. Domestic overnight trips reached 1·42 million, with the average stay falling from 5·2 to 4·4 nights and daily spend easing to R882.
